The Art of Interviewing and Exploring Issues

 

This course is aimed at professionals who are involved in interviewing adults in order to assess risk; complete foster carer and adoptive parent assessments and plan Therapeutic Interventions.

 

This course offers an introduction to the potential of discourse analysis. It explores the ways in which how someone says what they say is more revealing of the self and motivations for behaviour than what they say. It looks at the central importance of this when undertaking a range of evaluative assessments.

 

The course also looks at a framework to inform the ways in which we give feedback, with the aim of maximising understanding and effectiveness.
