There are two Foundation Courses available:

  • SAI for Children & Caregivers - Theory & Practical Application (part of the Therapists and Practitioner Pathways)

SAI for children & caregivers:

theory & practical application

This six day course combines SAI theory and applied practice.

As some course participants come with little or no knowledge of sensory processing, a free online, self taught pre-course  lecture will be available, An Introduction to Sensory Processing.

The first two days of the course will focus on the impact of trauma and attachment relationships on sensory processing and on SAI nosology.

The remaining four days will be the Just Right State Programmes for Children and Caregivers.

Those who have previously attended the Foundation Course are eligible to apply for the Just Right State module of the course. Please email info@sai-centre.com for further information.

Please note:

Additional attachment training will still be a requirement for those who wish to become a certified practitioner or continue on the therapist's pathway.

Eligibility: This course is for Therapists and Practitioners with a Primary Degree in Health, Social Care or Education.

SAI for Adults & Adolescents

This six day course trains therapists in the use of Sensory Attachment Intervention with adults and adolescents.

This course introduces Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI). It trains therapists in the use of the Just Right State Programme (JRS) for Adults and Adolescents, and in the use of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) Profile Questionnaire. SAI looks at the process of regulation and co-regulation from an integrative and neurosequential perspective.

The Just Right State Programme can be used with individuals, groups or families. It focuses on developing the capacity for self-regulation, co-regulation and reflective functioning. The Just Right State Programme was developed for individuals who struggled to participate in intervention programmes because of their incapacity to regulate their emotional states. The Autonomic Nervous System Profile Questionnaire is a self-report questionnaire that looks at indicators of stress, survival behaviour responses and self-regulating behaviours. It is an exploratory tool for use with individuals to help formulate their regulating needs.

Course Handbook includes; assessment tools, and the Just Right State manual and JRS intervention pack.

Eligibility: Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists working in LAC, CAMHS  or Forensic Mental Health Services.

We strongly recommend where possible that you choose the hybrid version of this training because of the experiential nature of the course materials. It enriches the learning experience and you enjoy the benefits of socially engaging and networking with other course participants during meal and break times.

Testimonials:

"So good, really felt like we were seeing SAI in practice with the setting and way the training was run."
